The Lochlea Harvest Edition (Second Crop) is matured in a combination of carefully selected ex-Tawny Port casks and ex-Ruby Port casks, first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and ex-red wine casks which have been re-coopered and have been shaved, toasted and re-charred (STR Barriques). This differs from the first crop where Sherry Butts were used instead of STR barriques and the port content has been significantly increased. It’s also another year older. The new process has created a whisky that is fruity and also creamy. Alc/Vol 46%
The limited release is inspired by the end of summer when the farm distilleries barley is harvested and used for the next years whisky production.
What does it taste like and why will your customers enjoy this single malt Scotch whisky?
On the nose we get fresh fields of grain, ripe red grapes, thick cut marmalade, dates and signature Lochlea ripe green apple. Our palate enjoys dried red fruits, summer pudding, well rounded and creamy with hints of pink peppercorns. The finish has a wonderful mouthfeel, great texture, lingering creaminess and fruity.

The Lochlea Fallow Edition (Second Crop) is matured exclusively in ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. This is in the ratio of 45% and 55% respectively. The Fallow Edition pays homage to the period of the year where farmland naturally rejuvenates itself after crops have been harvested. The whisky has been created by John Campbell, the Director of Production at Lochlea. Alc/Vol 46%
The Lochlea distillery is an independent family-owned distillery has an annual production capacity of 200,000 litres. The range of whiskies is ever expanding since the Lochlea First Release was launched in early 2022.

Australian’s love a port or sherry cask whisky, sweet and fruity. So the aromas of this will appeal to a large audience. Bold, rich and bursting with dried fruits. Raisins and sultanas then juicy figs and dates. Hazelnuts and milk chocolate again combine with the Lochlea signature ripe green apple notes. There’s also a hint of candied orange. On the palate your customer will experience a bold, fruity syrupy whisky which delivers Cognac soaked prunes, dark raisins, sultanas, dried figs and dates. There also dark chocolate and digestive biscuit notes. On the finish is where the magic keeps your customer engaged. cinnamon bark, clove, dried dark fruits, orange oil, oak notes and baking spices.
This whisky is fruity and delicious with malty components and really drives the Sherry influence is an amazing creation. It is absolutely delicious and well worth searching out as the price is pretty good too.
The Lochlea Sowing Edition (Second Crop) is matured in first-fill bourbon barrels from higher up in their warehouse than the Our Barley. The heat, faster maturation, and older spirit combine to show a clear progression in this 2nd Edition from last year’s edition, bottled without chill filtration or added colour. The Sowing Edition celebrates spring on the Lochlea farm. The whisky has been created by John Campbell, the Director of Production at Lochlea. Alc/Vol 46%

A whisky which is created to showcase the style of the Lochlea distillery’s new make spirit. For those who enjoy a malty, fruity and creamy whisky and are transitioning from whiskies like drinking Glenlivet and Glenfiddich bottlings. The nose shows a beautiful aroma of orchard fruits, ripe green apple and creamy cereal notes. Hints of peach and green grape. The palate delivers caramelised apples, vanilla and soft oak, wood spice with toasted hazelnuts and orange zest. The finish lingers with allspice and orchard fruits.
